1. Korea Foundation - Korean Studies Association of Australasia Graduate Studies Fellowship

The Korea Foundation (KF) offers KF Postgraduate Studies Fellowship and KF Postdoctoral Fellowship for research students and scholars in Australia and New Zealand. This scholarship and fellowship is provided by the KF and is administered by the Korean Studies Association of Australasia (KSAA).

(1) Eligibility:

  • Students enrolled (or to be enrolled) in a research degree (Research Master or PhD) in a subject related to Korea in 2011 at a University in Australia or New Zealand.

  • Korean citizens are excluded unless they have permanent residency of a foreign country.

(2) Amount

  • A$20,000 per annum.

(3) Deadline of submission of application

  • 15 October 2011

  • The outcome of the application will be announced in December 2011.

2. Korea Foundation - Korean Studies Association of Australasia Post-doctoral Fellowship

The Korea Foundation (KF) offers KF Postgraduate Studies Fellowship and KF Postdoctoral Fellowship for research students and scholars in Australia and New Zealand. This scholarship and fellowship is provided by the KF and is administered by the Korean Studies Association of Australasia (KSAA).

(1) Eligibility:

  • Foreign scholars who have received their Ph.D. degrees in a subject related to Korea but do not currently hold regular academic positions.

  • Applicants must have received their Ph.D. degrees or received a confirmation of the completion of their PhD degrees, prior to the submission of application, but not more than five years earlier.

  • During the term of the KF Postdoctoral Fellowship, Scholars should be based at a university in Australia or New Zealand.

  • Korean nationals are eligible to apply only if they have permanent residency status in another country.

3. AKF Scholarship Program: 2011- 12 Round Now Open

The Australia Korea Foundation (AKF) announced in March 2009 the establishment of an annual scholarship program to strengthen Australia's engagement with the Republic of Korea and Australia-Korea relations. Scholarships were awarded to eleven successful applicants in 2009, twenty in 2010 and eleven in 2011 through a competitive selection process.

Now in its fourth year, the AKF Scholarship Program 2012 will continue to provide support for early career professionals, postgraduates or later year undergraduates to undertake research, professional development, business internships, language and cultural studies, in the Republic of Korea
